PERSPECTIVES
Le campus international Seoul/Suncheon est une plate-forme de pédagogie, de production artistique et de débats qui engage étudiants, enseignants, et artistes dans des échanges multiformes.
Il est tourné vers les grands enjeux contemporains, globalisation culturelle et économique, jeu des frontières, refondation des savoirs et critique des représentations, impact des formes fictionnelles et des technologies de l’image sur les constructions de la réalité, relation au milieu, rupture épistémologique initiées par les critiques des récits de la modernité. Il a pour enjeu la production des formes et des environnements de demain.
A ce jour, ce campus de Suncheon est structuré autour de trois axes qui ont vocation à s’enrichir dans les années à venir :
- FORMATION : projections internationales– master en co-diplomation,
summer school
- RESIDENCES D’ARTISTES : production artistique
- DIFFUSION : expositions et évenements.
En matière de formations sur le site de Suncheon :

les projections internationales proposent des séjours en immersion à l’étranger à l’ensemble des étudiants de master 1 de l’école des beaux-arts de Nantes. Accompagnés de professeurs artistes et/ou théoriciens, au sein de la K’Arts à Séoul et sur le campus de Suncheon, ils travaillent durant un mois aujourd’hui, trois mois dans un avenir proche, dans le cadre de méthodes d’enseignement artistiques expérimentales et collaboratives. Des étudiants d’autres écoles d’art françaises et d’universités coréennes sont invités à se joindre à eux dans le cadre de projets collectifs transdisciplinaires.

un master en co-diplomation est envisagé avec l’université K’Arts de Séoul, autour des questions du paysage et du décor, dans le domaine de l’image et du cinéma.

La mise en place d’une Summer School durant l’été ouverte aux étudiants internationaux asiatiques souhaitant se préparer à venir en France ou en Europe francophone étudier l’art. Il s’agira durant cette Summer School de proposer un temps de production artistique avec un artiste et une première approche de la culture et de la langue françaises.

des résidences d’artistes et des événements sont prévus dans en relation étroite avec l’activité pédagogique du campus.
Un conseil artistique et scientifique franco-coréen, constitué d’experts sera créé, qui aura pour fonction de suivre les grandes étapes du projet et d’en donner la cohérence globale.
GENERAL OUTLOOK
The Seoul/Suncheon International Campus (SIC) is a platform for pedagogy, artistic production and debate which engages students, teachers, and artists in multiform exchanges.
SIC focuses on major contemporary issues such as cultural and economic globalization, diplomacy between bordering nations, redefining of knowledge and criticism of representations, impact of fictional forms and digital technologies on the construction of reality, relationship to the environment, and epistemological rupture initiated by critics of the narratives of modernity. Its challenge is the production of the shapes and environments of tomorrow.
To date, SIC is structured around three axes that are destined to grow in the years to come:

In terms of training on the Suncheon site:
• International Projections offer immersion trips abroad to all first-year Master's students of the Nantes School of Fine Arts. Accompanied by artist professors and/or theoreticians at the K’Arts school in Seoul and on the Suncheon campus, students work for a period of one month (in the near future, this period will be three months long) as part of experimental, artistic, and collaborative teaching methods. Students from other French art schools and other Korean universities are invited to join them as a part of this interdisciplinary, collective project.
• Master’s degree in co-graduation with K'Arts University of Seoul around the questions of landscape and stage setting, in the field of image and cinema.

Summer School during the summer months open to Asian international students preparing to study art in France or French-speaking countries. During this Summer School, students will be offered a time of artistic production with an artist and a first approach to the French culture and language.

Artist residencies and events are planned in close connection with the educational activities of the campus.

A French-Korean artistic and scientific council composed of experts will be created, whose function will be to follow the main stages of the project and to give the overall coherence.

LE CAMPUS à SUNCHEON
Le campus coréen se constitue à partir des spécificités du contexte du campus de Suncheon, à l’extrême sud de la Corée, de son rapport marqué au paysage et de ses particularités climato-géographiques : sa baie protégée en tant que zone humide naturelle, sa nature insulaire, la conservation et la création de paysages et de jardins par la municipalité, en font un lieu d’accueil ouvert et dynamique pour le campus.
Suncheon dispose également d’un studio de cinéma à ciel ouvert, qui offre des ouvertures à une réflexion artistique sur la question du décor, et des interactions, présentées plus bas, avec la question du paysage.
Le campus de Suncheon est situé dans le Parc National de Suncheon, premier parc national du pays, sur un terrain de 112 hectares. Des jardins chinois, hollandais, italien, turc… ont été réalisés, et un petit Versailles s’élève au centre d’un jardin à la française. C’est dans ce « Little Versailles » que le campus est installé, dans un bâtiment de 216 m2, qui peut accueillir une vingtaine d’étudiants et d’enseignants, sur un rez-de-chaussée et deux terrasses.
THE SUNCHEON CAMPUS
The Korean campus is based on unique attributes of the Suncheon campus, located in the southern part of South Korea. The Suncheon Campus is marked by its relationship to the landscape and its particular climate and geographical features—particularly its protected bay as a natural wetland, its insular nature, the conservation and creation of landscapes and gardens by the municipality, make it an open and dynamic creative place for the campus.
Suncheon also has an open-air cinema studio, which offers opportunities for artistic reflection on the questions of stage set and landscape, and the interactions between the two, as presented below.
Suncheon Campus is located inside the Suncheon National Park, the country's first national park, on 277 acres (112 hectares) of land. Chinese, Dutch, Italian, and Turkish gardens were created. A small Versailles rises at the center of a French garden. In this "Little Versailles" SIC has been installed in a 2,325-square-foot building (216 m2), which can accommodate twenty students and teachers on a ground floor and two terraces.
ANCRAGE DANS LE TISSU SPATIAL ET SOCIAL
Les projets développés par le campus ont un fort ancrage dans le tissu culturel, spatial et social des sites, paysages et environnements de Suncheon, et sont conçus en tenant compte des acteurs, humains et non-humains[1] locaux, afin de proposer un modèle dynamique de réflexion, d’action et de production commun, permettant de faire vivre le projet en toute réciprocité et en toute conscience. Des ateliers et séminaires seront proposés aux/par les étudiants, artistes et théoriciens invités, acteurs culturels et habitants de Suncheon : les productions seront pensées en lien avec les sites et leurs habitants.
COLLABORATION AVEC L’UNIVERSITÉ K’ARTS DE SÉOUL
Le Campus de Suncheon collabore avec l’université K’Arts de Seoul, aux niveaux de la production et des Projections, par l’implication d’enseignants plasticiens/réalisateurs et d’étudiants de niveau Master. Des étudiants et des enseignants de l’Ecole des beaux-arts de Nantes Saint-Nazaire et de l’université K’Arts sont donc accueillis en résidence depuis le mois d’avril 2018, pour investir le contexte du campus et produire des pièces en relation avec lui. Ces séjours, qui seront ouverts à des étudiants d’autres universités coréennes, seront l’occasion de la mise en œuvre de dispositifs pédagogiques et de productions qui se voudront inventifs, et qui feront l’objet, à l’issue de chaque séjour, de restitutions sous formes d’expositions et de rencontres. Les investigations et interprétations plastiques du contexte par les étudiants feront également l’objet de débats entre les acteurs des projets présentés et les visiteurs.
Par ailleurs, l’université K’Arts met à disposition des étudiants de Nantes une plateforme de travail, afin de mener des projets en collaboration avec les équipes pédagogiques et de se confronter au contexte de la ville-monde qu’est Séoul.
DIFFUSION NUMERIQUE
A partir du site de l’école des beaux-arts de Nantes Saint-Nazaire, une plate-forme numérique trilingue (français/anglais/coréen) sera créée dès l’année prochaine, qui permettra d’accéder aux différentes productions, œuvres, éditions numériques et conférences.

ANCHORAGE IN THE SPACE AND SOCIAL FABRIC
The projects developed by SIC have a strong connection to the cultural, spatial and social fabric of Suncheon's sites, landscapes, and environments, and are designed to take into account local human and non-human actors[1] in order to propose a dynamic model of reflection, action and common production, allowing to live the project in all reciprocity and in full conscience. Workshops and seminars will be offered to/by students, artists, invited theoreticians, cultural actors, and residents of the Suncheon Bay Area. Productions will be thought of in connection with the sites and their inhabitants.
COLLABORATION WITH K’ARTS UNIVERSITY IN SEOUL
SIC collaborates with the K'Arts University of Seoul at the production and Projections levels, through the involvement of visual arts teachers/directors and Master’s students. Students and teachers from Nantes Saint-Nazaire School of Fine Arts and K'Arts University have been hosted in residence since April, 2018 to invest the Suncheon campus context and produce pieces related to its surroundings. These stays, which will be open to students from other Korean universities, will be the occasion for the implementation of pedagogical devices and productions that will be inventive and which will be the subject, at the end of each stay, of renditions in the form of exhibitions and meetings. Students' visual arts of the Suncheon environment will be interpreted and debated between the actors of the presented projects and the visitors.
In addition, K'Arts University provides students from Nantes with a working platform with which to carry out projects in collaboration with educational teams and to confront the context of the world city that is Seoul.
DIGITAL BROADCAST
From Nantes Saint-Nazaire School of Fine Arts website, a trilingual digital platform (French/English/Korean) will be created next year, which will allow access to different productions, works, digital editions and conferences.
